The Miraculous Medal true name is the Medal of the Immaculate Conception and originates through a heavenly apparitions to a young religious sister from a convent located in Rue de Bac-Paris, France, It was the year of 1830 that our Blessed Mother appeared in a series of visions to sister Catherine Labouré while she was a novice. In was in these visits, Our Lady showed this young novice the front and back side of a oval medallion and instructed her to have this image made in a new Catholic devotional medal/sacramental. Once struck and distributed there immediately an outpouring of reports of spiritual conversions and physical healings that the medal soon became known as MIRACULOUS.
